BLACKHAWK LRAK SET UP!!
Here is my Blackhawk LRAK (Long Range Riflemans Kit) it is designed by Blackhawk in the US to be used by ground troops in the role of long range foot patrols and extended support for up to three days.
There is a SHED load of room in the LRAK, I mean this thing has room for it all, "but what about carrying it all.....?" sure, pounds equals pain, but with the clever design of the LRAK with its wide padded and fully adjustable shoulder harness and flotation panels giving hip padding - the LRAK can support and comfortably stow everything you might need. I have mine configured in my own personal preference as listed here, so starting on the left I have six AR magazines, an Israeli sterile battle dressing in a quick access pouch, two A3 sized sealable ziplok type bags, a mess tin with a broken down US MRE put into it - exactly what I would need for about two days, maybe three at a push before would need to start scavenging or being self sufficient to a higher level. I have two main meals with chemical heaters, a "First Strike" energy bar, raisins, crackers, peanut butter,, isotonic beverage base, chewing gum, wet wipe sachets, salt, coffee and creamer, basically food and a brew kit. Part of my kit here also has a USGI canteen/water bottle with steel mug and wind proof stove, which all fits nice and neatly together into the one pouch. At the bottom right of the picture you can see the contents of a small pouch I have attached to the MOLLE on my left shoulder, this is a first field dressing with my blood type and latex gloves in one waterproof bag, and a small ziplok with some small essentials like plasters, sutures, pain killers, and antiseptic cream. |
Here is the right hand side of the LRAK..
Similar to the left side, I have started with six AR magazines, then a more administrative approach with the rest of my loadout, I have a Garmin GPS 12 receiver, a camo compact, mosquito headset, long life strobe light, rifle cleaning kit, a "Rite in the rain" note pad with pencils, (sharpened both ends) with two chemlights, an Inova STS head torch with spare batteries, two "Learn and Live" cards (fire and shelter) a quick dry patrol hat which can be worn under a helmet or bush hat, and a comprehensive first aid kit complete with thermal blanket, bandages, Hyphin Chest Seal, tourniquet, field dressings, antibiotics, water soluble pain killers, high energy food (mint cake) prep/cleaning iodine pads, etc etc, also pictured is another USGI waterbottle with water purification tablets taped to the side, and pair of spare boot laces. Furthest out to the left is a LED Lenser micro flashlight with flood or spot features, this is in its small pouch on the right shoulder, it acts as a kind of bolster for my rifles buttstock there too. |
Here is the contents of the middle/back of my loadout.
In the lid of the pack I have a Highlander emergency bivvi bag, this handy bit of kit has a lot of very useful information printed on it, handy when attention is waning perhaps because of the very reason I had to take it out, under this is a pair of Blackhawk Hellstorm SOLAG Kevlar gloves, a USGI woodland poncho - handy for making shelter, or just plain wearing as it covers everything being worn, I have two 30m lengths of 550/Paracord inside this poncho which can be used straight away to make a shelter with the poncho. Along with this I have pair of waterproof marching socks and a waterproof Wynster anorak with hood, thin enough to wear under my smock, and last of all I have a Ultimate Survival kit which is a fantastic piece of kit, it comes in a waterproof and inflatable hard case with genuine chainsaw blade and handles, a blast match with some wetfire sachets, a storm whistle and a heliograpgh card, all the essentials in one box. |
