THE MK23 SOCOM.
pistol info.
And here we have my Heckler and Koch MK23 US SOCOM pistol made by KWA/Umarex to the usual high standard I'm used to from them has definitely been achieved!
The gun is a hefty piece, and very accurate in representation of the real thing, right down to the format of the serial number, as with the Desert Eagle - this gun may not be for everyone because of its size, - it's known among users in the SOCOM community as "The Brick" so you can imagine smaller handed operators not liking it so much.
On the other hand - (pun intended..) it suits me fine as I have large hands, and its features are perfect for every eventuality that a handgun would be required for, apart from a good long sight radius, nice crisp (for an airsoft gun) trigger, and longer than most barrel which both contribute nicely to accuracy, - the other features like decocking lever, ambidextrous magazine release, short throw safety, threaded barrel extension for suppressor attachment, enlarged trigger guard for use with gloves, and aperture in the trigger guard for correctly indexing the HK LAM - Laser Aiming Module.
So the HK MK23 is very well designed - typical of German design of course.
The gun, although large - can corner well through good technique and can as stated earlier be fitted with a suppressor to fulfil its role as a offensive handgun for elimination of sentries, guard dogs, street lights etc etc, and along with the LAM which has an integrated visible spectrum laser and white light, rapid target acquisition in low light is very efficient and easily achieved.
The .45 ACP round that the pistol uses is nicknamed "the American fist" because of its knock-down stopping power, and with twelve rounds in the magazine over the conventional eight rounds of SOCOM's aging M1911's and the match grade features of a competition gun - it has a distinct advantage over its predecessor.
The .45 rounds are unique in use with the tunable KAC suppressor because they can be slowed enough to significantly decrease the decibel level of the round breaking the sound barrier, this isn't so easily achieved in many other platforms and subsonic ammunition must be used to effectively decrease the decibel level, which may require extra magazines or perhaps two types of ammunition carried.
So a great gun with fantastic features, accuracy, and snappy blow back, I highly recommend the KWA/Umarex HK MK23 SOCOM.
UPDATE : RA Tech CNC Steel Slide and Outer Barrel set installed, Stainless Steel hammer spring installed, and seen in the pics is the MK23 SOCOM suppressor made by Guarder.
